World Market Steals

Ya’ll… there are mah-jor things happening at World Market right now. I strolled through the store yesterday and not leaving with my cart overflowing with new goodies required a lot of self control. Not only was I blown away by the amazing new products, but so many of them many reminded me of products in other stores with much higher price tags. Here are just a few of my favorite finds for a steal.

chandelier | home sweet blogWorld Market Rustic Wire Chandelier $169 vs. Pottery Barn Armonk 6-Arm Chandelier $449 The PB chandelier is the light fixture I originally wanted to replace the ceiling fan that was hanging over our dining table, but it was too big so I opted for a DIY drum shade instead (which I never shared… #badblogger). The size and price are definitely right on the World Market version, so I think an upgrade is in my near future.

jute pendant | home sweet blogWorld Market Natural Jute Hanging Pendant $49 vs. Selemat Walker Hanging Pendant $232

canister | home sweet blogWorld Market Medium Matte Floral Storage Jar $16 vs. Anthropologie Verdant Canister $78

industrial shelf | home sweet blogWorld Market Large Caiden Cart $399 vs. Restoration Hardware Baby & Child Industrial Baker’s Storage Rack $499 Not a huge price difference, but still… 100 bucks is 100 bucks. Plus, the WM version is about 10″ taller.

Have you been in WM lately? Spotted any steals worth sharing?

Living room chairs | an update

After going back and forth between the two styles I shared here on the blog, we finally made a decision. We went with the simple, darker stripe. We have lived with them for a few weeks and I could not be more pleased! The scale is perfect in the space and for their small size they are actually really comfy. Since I scooped them up them for such a steal, I had to share…

While the chair has a different style name on each site, it’s the same chair! The manufacturer is Safavieh, so if you happen to be buying this chair – or another one of their pieces – really dig around online, ’cause I’d be willing to bet you can find a great deal. I know Safavieh often shows up on One Kings Lane and Joss & Main so be sure to check there, too!

Some more exciting news – this awesome steal is being featured on Copy Cat Chic next week! If you’ve never checked out the site, it’s a must.

crave or save: kelly wearstler imperial trellis fabric

BW and I are so lucky because our house has an amazing outdoor space. Rather than going with the typical outdoor table, umbrella, lawn chairs, yadda, yadda, I wanted to create a second living space with comfy, lounge-y furniture. We finally found pieces we loved – the World Market set below (which we bought on sale!). I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to find some outdoor pillows to pull the space together. Thanks to Pinterest, I fell in love with the Kelly Wearstler Imperial Trellis fabric and decided I’d order a few yards and whip up some pillows. Until, of course, I noticed that the Kelly Wearstler fabric is $134 a YARD! As someone who thinks $20 is a lot for a yard of fabric I think $134 is absolutely insane. After some searching I found something pretty darn close for $9 a yard. It’s from and as far as I can tell it’s identical. I’m hoping to find a few other patterns and accents to toss into the mix, but the KW inspired fabric is definitely a start.

Then, I found theses puppies on $25 for TWO pillows! I should just order them call it a day, but these are only 16″ and I really want something a little bigger.

To wrap thing up, check out some of these beautiful rooms showcasing the Kelly Wearstler Imperial Trellis pattern. Maybe you’ll be inspired to order some of the “save” fabric for yourself! Also, I’ve pulled together an “inspiration board” for the feel I want to create for the outdoor space. I will be sharing that soon!

crave or save: pottery barn suzani pillow

I been lusting over this PB pillow. Actually TWO of these PB pillows! I pretty much planned my entire living room around it…. and no, I don’t own it. I We registered for it, but no luck. (hint, hint) Either way, I’ve had plenty opportunities to buy it and I still haven’t. I just cannot justify spending $80 on a pillow – wait no… pillowCASE. I would still have to buy a pillow insert – no matter how much I love it. For $160 there are just so many more things that we need first (namely, furniture). So, when I stumbled across this one on Etsy I was very pleasantly surprised. Same suzani print, same size, much different price tag.

I do really love the texture of the PB pillow, but is it worth the steep price? What do you think? One of these pillow will definitely be making an appearance on Kendall soon.

crave or save: diane von furstenberg opal wedge

We’ve just welcomed the first day of fall, but instead of shopping for boots and closed toe shoes, I’m still lusting after sandals. But let’s be honest, in the South we’ve got at least another full month or two before the cool weather really sets in. I was in love with these DVF shoes from the moment I saw them. Don’t you love that wedge heel? And if you ask me the “save” pair is almost IDENTICAL! Both are real leather. Both have a zipper heel. Both have the amazing wood wedge heel. Fingers crossed they’ll go on sale soon, because let’s face it…it never hurts just to save a few extra bucks.

Diane von Furstenberg Opal Wedge $295

Gianni Bini Adrianna Sandal $99

crave or save: marc jacobs color block dress

And yet another Marc by Marc Jacobs dress for crave or save. I love the color blocking, the uneven hemline, the orange color (for some reason I’m drawn to everything orange right now…post on that to come!) with a total 70s vibe. Very reminiscent of the ASOS spring lookbook that I was so obsessed with this spring. Just another thing to add to my ever growing honeymoon shopping list.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Color Block dress $565

Making Music Dress in Melody $70

crave or save: marc jacobs simone stripe dress

Today kicks off a new segment for the blog – crave or save! I am such a bargain shopper, so I love sharing when I find a good deal. Fingers crossed I will be able to share lots of good steals! Summer is coming to an end – although, we’ve still got a little bit of summer left and technically it will be hot in the south through October. Like, really hot – I can’t get excited about fall clothes quite yet. So I’m still filling my closet with summer staples. Plus, I’ll need some cute warm weather digs for the HONEYMOON! I absolutely fell in love with this dress when I saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring collection (um, the whole collection is ah-mazing! check it out here) but, since it is not really in my budget to drop hundreds on striped maxi, I was thrilled to find this super affordable version on Sure I wouldn’t mind having the MMJ hanging in my closet, but I don’t think you can go wrong with the bargain version.
